Home of the stunning and surreal aurora borealis, great ice deserts and some of the rarest species of animals, Alaska is one of the most beautiful and most rugged of the United States. Cars and automobiles do however exist out there. There are car dealerships in some of the main hubs such as Anchorage. All wheel drive jeeps and particularly hardy vehicles consist of most cars one would see in Alaska. It is less common to see a Ford Taurus or Hyundai Sonata. The average person walks more commonly than drives. Most sections of the society are not sprawled, meaning other than between cities and communities, not much traveling in required for residents. Sled dogs in fact, might be a more common mode of transportation than the automobile. Life in Alaska is surely unique and distinct from that which the contiguous US experiences. But, interestingly, even out in the frozen wilderness, people are still going through the trials and tribulations of everyday life, and driving their cars.
